Edexcel is a UK-based examination board that offers a range of qualifications, including the AS and A-levels (Advanced level qualifications). The Edexcel A level with the stipulated number of subjects and scores is recognized by AlU (Association of Indian Universities) as equivalent to 12th grade, providing easy access to Bachelor’s programs in India as overseas. The qualifications offered by Edexcel are designed to provide students with the knowledge, and understanding they need to succeed in their chosen careers and further education. The AS and A Levels are modular, meaning that students write their board examinations unit wise, with the additional flexibility of retaking units for grade improvement until they cash in for their final award and certification at the end of A levels.

Learners wishing to pursue medicine or engineering in India are required to opt for and clear Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Mathematics at the AS and A Levels in addition to English at the AS levels for admission to HEIs in India.
